Why!? Why!?

How did Humans live like this?  Everyday was basically the same since they had enrolled in University.

  1. You’d leave for your classes.
  2. You’d come home, and do your homework, and study.
  3. You’d go to practice, and come too exhausted to do anything but pass out and sleep.

Only to repeat the whole thing all over again the next day. Wash, rinse, repeat. It was…monotonous.

Sometimes they’d break up the routine by studying outside, or by practicing their juggling skills.

It wasn’t much, but it was these little breaks that allowed them to keep their sanity over the first two weeks.

The good news was with all of the scholarships they’d managed to get, they’d finally upgraded all of their furnishings. It made things slightly better with slogging through. At least they were finally comfortable.

Something that made it slightly more uncomfortable were the reports made to Earth Unit 6. Almost everyday one or the other was pulled up to report in. It was super annoying when they were barely getting anything done in the first place.

The only good thing to come from reporting in regularly, was they often talked about upcoming events in the nearby world.

On their first weekend off since they joined University, Leslie had taken the advice of Earth Unit 6 and gone to the Finchwick Festival. Leslie was super excited, it was exactly what he’d always hoped for, a festival celebrating plant and animal life.

Of course all the others could think about, was the fact that was a bar and food. Imo and Gus had went right into the pub. Leslie could never figure out how they could so easily just open up to people.

After wandering for a while and looking at the exhibits, Leslie finally found stalls selling all sorts of plants.

The first one he’d come to had vegetables, and animal products for sale. He’d bought as much as he could stuff his bag and pockets full, and then he’d moved on to the second stall.

This stall had mainly flowers and some seeds for sale that promised giant crops. As much as that tickled his fancy, he bought a couple of the flowers and listened to Agatha Cumplebottom lay down all the gossip.

Finally feeling refreshed after a long week, they started the next semester by doing what they did best: Homework and studying! Ugh…

I guess the real take away here was no matter how overwhelmed or busy humans felt, they had it right, you had to break for fun. It was the little moments that made life worth it.

It still begged the question as to why Humans made themselves this busy and over whelmed in first place. Why did they do this to themselves? Why!?
