Weekends are for De-Stressing

When was this going to stop!? Gus sighed as he was again abducted.
A few hours later he was put back down on Earth.
Interesting. They’d received funding from the University, and had upgraded a few things to make life more comfortable here, and now they were being audited for funds use.
It was just silly. It was their money, not supplied by Command. Good thing Earth Unit 6 weren’t thinkers. They’d agreed with everything he’d said. So for now they had some freedom. At least until they had a higher ranking Officer come for them.
That’s a problem for another day, Gus thought.

They were all in good spirits the next morning. The new furnishings had improved everyone’s moods and backs. Plus they were able to personalize their own spaces. It was easier to relax that way, and boy did they need it. Humans were masochists!
Not only did they have full classes coming up, they’d also been assigned after-school jobs. Imo and Gus had been placed under the Soccer Team and Leslie was part of the E-Sports Gamers. Both looked like they were going to be taking up almost all the free time they had, and now Leslie had informed them they need 3 credits for Guest Lectures.
Gus sighed as he started round two of upgrading their furniture. There goes all his prime nights. Man, so far this Human thing sucked. How did they do it?

That was brutal! All three friends sighed. Gus and Imo still had practice tonight. Slowly dragging their feet they followed Leslie who seemed to bounce ahead of them.
“Just looking at how happy he is, is exhausting” Imo said tiredly.
“No talk, save energy” Gus said yawning.
So far everything they’d learned at these Guest lectures and through experience made it seem like Humans made things more difficult than they needed to be. After that last Guest Lecture they’d discovered that Humans bullied one another of stupid reasons: skin colour, religion, academic level, who they loved, clothes, money, dwellings. The list seemed to go on and on, and honestly, it seemed silly. On Sixam, they’d gotten rid of that. Everyone had equal chances and started the same. They also ended the same. Humans got so much backwards.
As they parted ways, Leslie promised to get things ready for them for the night and write up the reports. Gus and Imo figured just falling into bed and sleeping afterwards sounded just about right.

Leslie had left the other two snoring and drooling at home in their beds. It was already afternoon and they hadn’t shown any hints of getting up.
Leslie went back to Magnolia Blossom park. He’d mostly gathered fish to examine the last time they were there, but now he wanted plant samples. Besides with Imo and Gus hovering over him all the time, he didn’t really have the time to explore the park fully.
Wandering into the farthest reaches of the park, he’d found more nesting places for frogs, and even managed to capture one. He’d discovered several plants, but unfortunately only one seemed to be able to harvest. The rest seemed to be still in the growth stage.
It seems to run a growth cycle as well as a seasonal cycle Leslie thought. The dossiers had only scratched the surface of this. He couldn’t wait to explore it more thoroughly. Then there was the gem and mineral deposits!
Some contained gems, some contained minerals, and some contained fossils or he’d even found boxes of small treasures, or maps leading to buried treasures.
Earth was so exciting! The others complained, but Earth was wonderful.

After a stern talking to when he got home, Leslie had gone outside with his treasures.
He’d study the fossils and the frog later, but his real treasure and the one he was most coveted, that one he was going to do right now.
He’d prepared the seeds he’d gathered. Now he’d plant them, and watch the growth cycle and track it. It was exhilarating!
“Don’t forget we have school in the morning!” Gus hollered out the side door.
Sighing Leslie put away his watering can. Heading in, he couldn’t wait to dream of plants.
