The Big News
Imo and Leslie sat outside chatting as Leslie did his homework. Angela had brought over an easel and spent her free time painting. Ever since she and Gus had started dating, she’d been at their house day and night. She’d moved some of her belongings in, and over the weeks they’d gotten used to her presence.
“So anyways, this club I joined they’re having a get together soon, and I think I’m going to go.” Leslie said all excited. He’d finally found a club that was as interested in Nature as he was. The Garden Gnomes, they just sounded awesome!
“Hey that’s good. Clubs are a good way of fitting in.” Imo said encouragingly.
“He’s right. I met lots of new people after I joined the Art Society.” Angela said while painting. Leslie smiled, he couldn’t wait.
Well, that hadn’t quite happened as planned. The get together with the club had been to hang out at some Ruins. A Fun Night they called it, where they could all hang out outside of their normal gatherings. After a while, only Leslie and Bjorn had shown up, and Bjorn had called an end to the night.
Not wanting to completely waste his night, Leslie had wandered around the Ruins gathering minerals, and plants. He could always transplant them, and study the minerals and metals he found.
Angela was all excited. She’d been spending so much time over at Gus’s that it felt like she lived there now. The only thing was, was she was feeling lonely. She was used to having Lilith there, and their friends dropping by all the time.
So when her BFF Apricity called, Angela jumped on the chance to invite her over for a visit.
When Apricity showed up, Angela went running out the door to greet her. Angela started filling Apricity in on the past few weeks. The more she talked the more animated she became.
To commemorate Angela’s new relationship and situation and their reunion, they decided to take a Selfie.
That night, Imo joined Angela and Apricity in the living room. Turns out the girls were quite good company. They decided to watch a horror movie about campers. That’s when Leslie came home.
“You will not believe what happened tonight! I thought it would be a regular gathering, but-” Leslie stopped talking as he entered the living room and spotted Apricity.
Angela nudged Imo and asked for help in the kitchen. Walking out giggling together, Leslie took a seat across from Apricity.
“Hi.” Leslie said staring at Apricity.
“Hi.” She giggled. “I’m Apricity. You are?”
“Oh, Leslie. My name is Leslie.” He said. He was staring at Apricity’s face. She was cute, but she seemed fancy, a little too much for his liking.
“Isn’t Leslie a girls name?” Apricity said giggling.
“So I’ve heard.” Leslie said slightly annoyed. They sat in silence for a few moments.
“So your gathering didn’t go right?” Apricity asked. Finally a slightly safe topic. As Leslie told her about the disappointing gathering compared to what it should have been, he found himself moving over to the couch Apricity was sitting on. Eventually, they figured out they both loved plant and wildlife. As they continued on, they started laughing and teasing each other. Turns out Apricity wasn’t that bad.
Angela and Imo had split apart after giving Leslie and Apricity some alone time. Angela knew they couldn’t see it yet, but they were perfect for each other. Plus, she wanted Apricity to be just as happy as she was, and Leslie was Gus’s BFF and seemed like a nice guy.
Following her thoughts down their natural trail, she started heading towards Gus’s room. Suddenly she was yanked into the bathroom by her arm and kissed passionately.
Pushing away she found Gus turning on the shower. He gave her a wink and nodded towards the shower as he took his shirt off. Giggling Angela joined him. Afterwards, Gus kissed Angela on the cheek and said he had some studying to do. He left Angela alone in the bathroom to finish drying off.
After she put on her clothes and fixed her hair, she started putting her face on, when she saw the pregnancy test in her toiletry bag. It had been awhile since she last took one.
Gus was studying for his course, when Angela came running in from the bathroom. She sat on the edge of the bed all out of breath.
“Everything all right? Want some more?” He flirted.
“Um, no, but there is something I have to tell you.” Angela started fidgeting a little bit. “I just took it to see. I mean I couldn’t possibly be, but I thought it’s been a while and we’ve been – like weasel’s.”
Gus’s eyes widened. What was she getting at?
“So…what is it?” Gus asked. What did she take?
PREGNANT!?
Gus couldn’t keep his face blank.
“How..? I mean, HOW!?” Gus was stumped. They shouldn’t be compatible, it shouldn’t be possible.
“I’m sorry?” Angela said. “What do you mean how? I didn’t do this alone did I?”
Now she was getting upset. Gus quickly stood up. He rushed over and placed his hands on her shoulders.
“I am overjoyed. I just wasn’t expecting it.” Gus said. He looked Angela right in the eyes. He was hoping she’d see the joy in his eyes, and it looked like she did. Angela leaned in and Gus wrapped his arms around her.
Now what am I going to do?
