Ezza let out a breath, then knocked on the door. She waited a few minutes and then Penny answered the door.

“Ezza! So good to see you. What do I owe the pleasure?” Penny asked her moving aside so Ezza could enter. Ezza walked in with a confidence she didn’t feel. It needed to be done, but Ezza wasn’t sure how to go about it. After all she hadn’t done this before, but she’d seen others do it. Of course that had been when she was a man, and hanging out with the guys. Guys had a unique way of solving this issue. It was a few punches, grunts, and then it was all okay. How did she handle it now?

“Just sit wherever. I haven’t had time to really clean lately.” Penny said moving a few things. There was a ding from her computer and she went over to check on it. Ezza wasn’t surprised, Penny was an amazing blog artist. She had the type of numbers that made Ezza drool.

As she waited for Penny to finish up on the computer, she tried to gather her thoughts and courage. Ezza couldn’t sit still for long, she popped up off the couch and started wandering the apartment looking around. Penny had amazing taste and everything in her apartment was chic and eclectic, kind of like Penny herself. Of course now that she was looking around, she wondered where Zas had been in here. Where had they joined together in here? She could almost imagine Zas in various places and positions with Penny. It made her both angry and sad. 

“Sorry about that. Fans are so demanding sometimes, but you know that already. Am I right?” Penny said, coming over to where Ezza was standing and staring at her fridge. Ezza smiled at her. She could feel butterflies fluttering in her stomach, it was now or never.

“Penny, I came over with a purpose,” Ezza started. She felt more than saw Penny turn to look at her.

“Oh? Did I forget to do something for you? Was I supposed to tag you in something?”Penny asked. She was now watching Ezza intently. Ezza took a deep breath then turned and looked Penny. 

“I’m here to ask you to leave Zas alone. You’re my friend, and I like you Penny; Zas is my best friend and my man. I’m asking nicely between friends.” Ezza said. It came out in a bit of a rush, so she hoped Penny understood her. She was also hoping that Penny backed off and didn’t make a big deal about it. Penny started to laugh.

“Oh sweetie. It’s not a competition, I’ve already won.” Penny said smiling. Ezza looked down for a moment. 

“Actually, I always win when it comes to Zas. Like I said before he’s always been my best friend. I’ve been through hundreds of girls like you, but it’s my turn now.” Ezza said confidently. “You see what you, and all the other girls like you don’t realize is that while he may use you for a few weeks, I’m the one he comes back to. I’m the one who he relies on, me. I’m the constant in his life. The rest of you go like leaves on the wind.”

Ezza paused to catch her breath. Now that she thought about it, she had felt that way even as a man. She had watched Zas with all those woman, and always chalked it up to jealousy that Zas always seemed to get all the woman until Ti’Voxi, but maybe she had just been jealous of the woman who got Zas’s attention. The revelation shocked her a bit. Penny stood looking at Ezza with wide eyes.

“I-“ Penny started to say. Ezza held up her hand.

“I’m not really… I just wanted you to know. You’re my friend Penny, but Zas is important to me and I won’t give up the fight for him. So unless you plan on wasting your life, fighting me for something that is not going to happen, I’d suggest you move on.” Ezza started moving towards the apartment door. She opened it and then paused, looking back at Penny she said “You have a lovely apartment Penny.”

 

Once she was back in her own apartment, she locked the door then ran to the bedroom. Flinging herself down on the bed she giggled and started to roll around. Ezza couldn’t believe she’d done that. She felt embarrassed and empowered all at the same time.
