Dorks-R-Us

“What are doing here really?” Cameron asked between bites. He did not like sitting on the hard picnic table benches at the park, and he didn’t see the need for an outing as they all lived together now.

“Well, I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t to eat all the food in it.” Zas commented dryly. Cameron glared at him and made a show of stuffing the last of the tofu dog in his mouth with an Mmm sound. Zas sighed.

“I’m just saying Pal, I don’t know if it was the finalizing of the divorce, or stress at work with all this I.P.- you know Intelligence Program?- business added on; but you’ve let yourself go. I’m here for you, just get whatever it is off of your chest.” Zas said.

“Coming from the man who has a chronic rash lately? Really Muffin, you think you’re in a place to preach? For the record I know what I.P. stands for, you don’t need to keep explaining it.” Cameron snarked back. He knew he had let himself go, but he didn’t know how to stop it. Maybe Zas was right and it was stress, but every morning lately he woke up with a stomach ache, and then it would fade and he felt ravenous the rest of the day. It was a vicious cycle, and Cameron had his suspicions that it had something to do with Enhancement pills they were giving all the drafts for the Intelligence Program. Probably some Intelligence boosting military thing, Cameron thought to himself.

Ezza came bouncing over, as both men stared at each other in an awkward silence. She plopped down beside Zas and gave him a kiss on the cheek, then linked her hands with his. Cameron sighed a little wistfully at the sight.

“Why are we here Pretty Baby?” Cameron asked. He spotted a plate of hamburgers a table away and got one.

“Well, I was thinking of starting a club, and Zas thought it would be a good idea. So we came to discuss it.” Ezza smiled.

“And we couldn’t do this at home why?” Cameron asked, then he took a huge bit of his burger.

“You ate all the groceries?” Zas fired off. After making a haha noise Cameron made a rude gesture with his finger.

“Why not? There’s fresh air, you can fish, you can gather, you can eat… like a lot. You sure you’re okay?” Ezza asked.

“Yes, I’m fine. You two can stop worrying now.” Cameron said exasperatedly. “So what is this club about?”

“Well, we still have to decide that.” Zas said.

“I think in our club you should be able to do yoga and meditation.” Ezza threw out there.

“Oh, and maybe woodworking, and tv.” Zas said.

“We could also do laundry!” Ezza said excitedly.

“These are all things we do at home all the time.” Cameron interjected.

“Yeah, but now we can do them together!” Ezza was practically jumping up and down on the bench beside Zas.

“So Dorks-R-Us is the club for Simpletons to do simple things?” Cameron said sarcastically.

“I like that.” Zas said with sarcastic enthusiasm.

“Me too.” Ezza said typing into her phone.

“What are you writing Pretty Baby? Don’t write that down.” Cameron tried to reach for her phone, but it was too late. She had hit send.

“Now all my fans know I’m part of an exclusive club for Dorks!” Ezza said proudly.

“You two can be embarrassing to hang around at times.” Cameron said. Zas and Ezza laughed.

The three of them enjoyed their time at the park before heading home. Ezza had caught some fish, which Zas agreed to cook, and Cameron ate two more plates of burgers. Finally his hunger was sated. Now he just had to do it all over again tomorrow.
