Maybe Good Surprises come in Jelly Form?
Day Four
Today was going to be a great day! Greta was absolutely sure of it when she woke up. She had some bread and jam, and then hit the shower. Going up to the surface, she discovered the sun was shining, the air crisp and clean, and it was warm. No more freezing for Greta today!
After checking her mailbox (she’d been using the mailbox system,) she headed out into the water. After a few hours, Greta was starting to feel slightly discouraged again. Nothing! That’s when she spotted it. Something small and a bit darker than the shadows surrounding it. Going a bit deeper she reached it, and discovered she had found a rock unlike anything she had ever seen. It was cool to the touch and just a bit on the mysterious side. Greta had heard of these things, they were space rocks. Some were worthless, while others were worth a fortune. She put in in the mailbox to sell. After all, what good would a space rock do her here?
Going inside, Great wasn’t feeling all that hungry and talking to herself didn’t feel all that appealing. So, she decided to fish. Going back outside, Greta fished for a few hours and caught more anchovies just as she was about to call it quits, her line tugged more sharply than it ever had before. With some patience, a lot of struggling, and a few curses, Greta managed to pull her catch out of the water. She had caught a jellyfish. Wait! She had caught a jellyfish! Her dismay turning to delight, she did a bit of a happy dance in congratulation to herself. This meant she was getting better right?
Feeling quite pleased with herself, Greta sold the jellyfish and put her freshly caught anchovies in the fridge. She tucked herself into bed. Yes, life was getting good.
